Features

Why convert EPUB to PDF with BestConverter

Real text, not pictures

Chapters are laid out again as a real document: headings, paragraphs, bold and italic, lists, quotes, code and pictures. You can select, search and copy the text, and the PDF stays small.

Contents, bookmarks and links

A clickable table of contents page with page numbers, PDF bookmarks built from the book's own chapter list, and footnote, cross-reference and web links that still work.

Made for printing and reading

A4, Letter, A5 or 6 × 9 in pages, serif or sans-serif font, font size, margins, line spacing, justified text, book-style indents, page numbers and no lonely lines at the top or bottom of a page.

Private and free

Everything runs in your browser: no upload, no account, no watermark, no email. Convert several e-books at once with the same settings.

Convert EPUB to PDF with real, searchable text

EPUB is great on e-readers because the text reflows to fit any screen, but it is awkward to print, to annotate in a PDF reader or to share with someone who has no e-book app. BestConverter turns an EPUB into a proper PDF document directly in your browser.

How the conversion works

An EPUB is a ZIP archive of web pages. The converter reads the reading order of the book, then lays out every chapter again on fixed pages: headings, paragraphs, bold and italic text, lists, quotations, code blocks, pictures and simple table rows. Because the text is written as text and not as screenshots, the PDF stays small and you can search it, copy from it and have it read aloud. Custom fonts, colours and complex layouts are replaced by a clean print layout.

Readable PDF or Exact look

Readable PDF is the default and the right choice for novels, textbooks and manuals. Exact look renders each chapter with the book's own styles and saves A4 pages as pictures: the file is bigger and the text cannot be selected, but fixed-layout comics, picture books and magazines keep their design.

Languages

The readable PDF draws Latin, Greek and Cyrillic text, including accents and typographic quotes. Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Arabic and Hebrew are not in the built-in fonts; the tool warns you and suggests Exact look for those books.

Tips

  • Choose A5 or 6 × 9 in for a paperback feel, A4 or Letter for printing.
  • Turn off the cover or contents page if you only need the text.
  • Switch paragraphs to "Indented (book style)" and line spacing to Relaxed under More options for a classic novel look.
  • Keep "Compress large pictures" on for illustrated books: pictures over 1800 px are saved again as JPEG for a smaller file.
  • Copy-protected (DRM) e-books cannot be converted. Use a DRM-free copy, which many publishers and shops offer.
FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How do I convert EPUB to PDF for free?

Drop your .epub file on this page, choose a page size and font in the options window, then click Convert to PDF. Download the result when the progress bar finishes: no account is needed and no watermark is added.

Can I convert a DRM-protected or Kindle book to PDF?

No. Only DRM-free EPUB files can be converted, because copy-protected e-books have encrypted text; the tool detects this and tells you instead of producing an empty PDF. Kindle formats such as AZW or KFX are not EPUB and are not accepted.

Is the text in the converted PDF searchable?

Yes, with the default "Readable PDF" mode the text is real text that you can search, select and copy. The "Exact look" mode saves the pages as pictures instead, so its text cannot be selected.

Does the PDF keep the chapters and table of contents?

Yes. The chapter list inside the EPUB becomes a clickable contents page with page numbers and PDF bookmarks with nested sub-sections, and footnote links keep working.

What page size should I use to print an EPUB?

A4 or Letter for printing at home or reading on a computer. A5 or 6 × 9 in give book-like pages that are comfortable on a tablet or e-reader.

Is it safe to convert EPUB to PDF online here?

Yes. The EPUB is unpacked and converted in your browser, so the e-book never leaves your device. Only the conversion code and fonts are downloaded from this site the first time you use the tool.
