EPUB is the standard e-book format: the text flows to fit the screen and you choose the font, size and spacing. What the converter does for you
- Rebuilds the text: lines are joined into paragraphs, hyphenated words are re-joined, headings and bullet lists are recognised, and bold and italic words keep their style.
- Cleans up print leftovers: page numbers and the running headers or footers repeated on every page are removed, and two-column layouts are read column by column.
- Adds structure: chapters from bookmarks or headings, a nested table of contents, a cover from the first page or your own JPG, PNG or WebP image, and the title, author and language from the PDF properties.
- Keeps pictures: photos and figures are cropped from the pages and placed where they appear in the text. Pages without a text layer are kept as images.

Tips for the best result
- PDFs created from Word, Google Docs or LaTeX convert best because they contain real text.
- For scanned books, run PDF OCR first so the e-book gets real, resizable text.
- Use "Exact page look" for comics, children's books and magazines where the layout matters more than resizing.
- Very complex layouts (forms, posters, dense tables) are always readable but may not reflow perfectly; check the result in your reading app.
- If a very large PDF runs out of memory on your device, turn off pictures or split the PDF first.

Can I read a PDF converted to EPUB on my Kindle?
Yes. Kindle accepts EPUB files through Send to Kindle (email, app or website), which converts them for your device. The EPUB also opens directly in Apple Books, Google Play Books, Kobo, PocketBook, Calibre and most other e-readers.
How does the PDF to EPUB converter create chapters?
With "Automatic", the PDF bookmarks are used when the file has at least two of them. Otherwise BestConverter looks for headings (larger or bold lines) and starts a chapter at each main heading; if there are none, long documents are split every 10 pages. You can also force bookmarks, headings, every N pages or one single chapter.
Can I convert a scanned PDF to EPUB?
Yes, but a scanned page is only a picture with no text to reflow, so it is added to the e-book as a full-page image and nothing is lost. For text you can resize, run PDF OCR first and then convert the OCR result to EPUB.
What is the difference between reflowable and exact page look?
Reflowable is a normal e-book: the text adapts to the screen and you can change the font size. Exact page look turns every page into a picture that keeps the original layout, which suits comics, magazines, brochures and scans, but text cannot be resized or searched.
Are tables, formulas and charts kept when converting PDF to EPUB?
Text inside tables is kept, but as paragraphs rather than a grid. Pictures embedded in the PDF are kept. Charts and diagrams drawn with vector lines are not cropped as pictures; for documents full of them, "Exact page look" keeps everything.
Is it safe to convert a confidential PDF to EPUB here?
Yes. The PDF is read and the EPUB is built on your own device by your browser, and nothing is sent to a server. Password-protected PDFs work too: the password is only used locally to open the file.
