A pocket scanner in your browser
Straightens skewed photos
The page edges are found automatically. Drag any corner to fine-tune it, with a magnifier for precision, and the photo is warped flat as if it came from a flatbed scanner.
Scanner-style filters
Auto colour and Grayscale remove shadows and turn the paper white. Black & white uses an adaptive threshold for crisp text, with a slider for the text weight. Every filter has a live preview.
Camera built in
On a phone, Take photo opens the camera, and the editor lets you shoot more pages. On a computer with a webcam, a Use camera button appears when your browser allows camera access. iPhone HEIC photos are supported too.
Searchable PDF if you want
Turn on OCR to add an invisible text layer, so you can search, select and copy the text of your scan. Choose A4, Letter or the shape of the scan, margins and quality.
How to scan to PDF without a scanner
A photo of a page is rarely a good document: it is taken at an angle, the corners are cut off or the table shows around it, and the paper is grey with a shadow from your hand. This Scan to PDF tool fixes all of that in your browser. It finds the sheet in the photo, lets you adjust the four corners, and uses a perspective transform to flatten the page into a straight rectangle, the same way a scanner app does.
Clean results with scan filters
Auto colour and Grayscale estimate the colour of the paper across the page and divide it out, so shadows and uneven light disappear and the background becomes white while the ink stays dark. Black & white uses an adaptive threshold that decides for every pixel against its neighbourhood, which keeps faint text readable even when one side of the page was darker. Each filter shows a live preview before you commit, and one click applies it to every page.
What you can do
- Scan with your phone camera (or a webcam, where the browser allows camera access), or upload JPG, PNG, WEBP, BMP, GIF and HEIC photos.
- Rotate pages, reorder them with drag and drop or the arrow buttons, and delete bad shots.
- Pick A4, US Letter or a page with the same shape as the scan, with no, small or large margins.
- Choose Compact (150 dpi), Standard (200 dpi) or High (300 dpi) quality to balance file size and sharpness.
- Add an invisible OCR text layer in 16 languages to get a searchable PDF.
- Download the result as PDF, Word, JPG or PNG, save it to My documents or open it in the PDF editor to sign or annotate it.
Private by design
Your photos never leave your device. There is no account, no watermark and no limit on the number of scans. For the best results, lay the page flat on a darker surface, avoid direct glare and keep the whole sheet in the frame.

Frequently asked questions
How do I scan a document to PDF with my phone?
Open this page on your phone, tap Take photo and photograph the page on a darker surface. Repeat with the Camera button inside the editor for more pages, check the corners and tap Create PDF.
Is it safe to scan private documents online?
Yes. Edge detection, perspective correction, filters, OCR and the PDF itself are all made in your browser, so your photos are never uploaded. Only the OCR language data is downloaded once, the first time you create a PDF with OCR on.
Why were the page edges not detected automatically?
Detection looks for a bright page that stands out from a darker background. On a white desk, or when fingers or other papers touch the page, drag the four corners by hand or click Whole photo.
Which scan filter is best for text documents?
Black & white gives the sharpest text and usually the smallest file. Auto colour keeps stamps, signatures and highlights in colour while cleaning the paper. Grayscale is a middle ground, and Original keeps the photo as it is.
Can I make a scanned PDF searchable?
Yes. Turn on "Make the text searchable (OCR)" and pick the document language, and an invisible text layer is placed under the image so you can search and copy it. Recognition is good on clear prints and weak on handwriting.
How many pages can I scan into one PDF?
There is no fixed limit. Pages are processed one at a time to keep memory low; on older phones choose Compact quality for long documents. You can reorder or delete pages before creating the PDF.
