A PNG to JPG converter that shows you the result first
Real sizes, live
Move the quality slider and see the exact JPG size of your image, measured in your browser. Four quality presets each show their real size, and batches get a total estimate.
Your choice of background
JPG cannot store transparency. Fill transparent areas with white, black or any colour you pick; soft edges and shadows are blended smoothly instead of turning jagged.
Before/after slider and resizing
Drag the divider over the PNG and the JPG, zoom to 100% to check details, and shrink large images to Full HD, a percentage or a custom size in the same step.
Batch, private, no limits
Convert dozens of PNGs at once and download them as a ZIP. Files are converted on your device: no upload, no sign-up, no watermark, no daily limit.
Convert PNG to JPG without guessing
PNG is perfect for graphics and transparency, but photos saved as PNG are often several times larger than they need to be. Converting them to JPG makes them easier to email, upload to forms and websites, and store. BestConverter shows you the result before you commit: the exact JPG size at your chosen quality, a draggable before/after comparison with a 100% zoom, and the savings for every file.
What you can control
- Quality from 10% to 100%, with four presets that each show their real size on your image.
- Background colour for transparent areas: white, black or any colour, with smooth blending of soft edges.
- Size: keep the original, limit the longest side (4K, Full HD and more), scale by a percentage or set a custom maximum width and height. Images are never enlarged.
- File extension .jpg or .jpeg, and whether to keep the PNG print resolution (DPI).
Settings that work well
- Website or blog: Balanced (80%) with the longest side at 1920 px usually cuts a large PNG photo down to a fraction of its size.
- Cut-out product shots: choose Custom and enter the exact colour of the page background, so the edges blend in.
- Scans for printing: keep the print resolution switched on and use Maximum (95%).
Good to know
- Animated PNGs (APNG) are converted from their first frame, because JPG holds a single image.
- For logos, screenshots and text, PNG is often smaller and sharper than JPG. The preview tells you when the JPG would be larger.
- Everything happens in your browser. Your files are never uploaded, there is no sign-up, no watermark and no limit on the number of images.

Frequently asked questions
What happens to transparent areas when I convert PNG to JPG?
JPG has no transparency, so transparent pixels must be filled with a solid colour. White is the default, but you can choose black or any custom colour so the image matches the page or slide it will sit on. Semi-transparent edges and shadows are blended with that colour, which keeps them smooth.
Which JPG quality should I choose?
High (90%) looks practically identical to the PNG for photos and is a safe default. Balanced (80%) is ideal for websites and email. Maximum (95%) is for printing or further editing. Every preset shows the real file size on your own image, so you can compare before converting.
Why is my JPG bigger than the PNG?
JPG is designed for photos. Logos, screenshots, charts and text with flat colours are often smaller as PNG, and JPG adds soft artefacts around sharp edges. The preview warns you when this happens: lower the quality or keep such images as PNG.
Can I convert multiple PNG files to JPG at once?
Yes. Add as many PNGs as you like, choose the settings once and download every JPG separately or all together as one ZIP file. Each file shows its own size and savings, and files that cannot be read are skipped and listed.
Does the JPG keep the DPI of my PNG?
Yes, by default. If the PNG stores a print resolution (for example 300 DPI for a scan), the same DPI is written into the JPG, so it prints at the same physical size. You can turn this off under More options. Other PNG metadata such as text notes is not copied.
Is it safe to convert PNG to JPG online here?
Yes. The conversion runs entirely in your browser, so your images are never uploaded and never leave your device. The only limit is your device memory: very large images (tens of megapixels) may need the Resize option on phones.
