Which split should I use?
- Every page: one PDF per page, numbered so the files stay in order (report-page-01.pdf, report-page-02.pdf…).
- Every N pages: fixed-size parts, for example every 2 pages for double-sided forms. The last file gets the pages left over.
- Split in half: two halves, or any number of equal parts.
- Custom ranges: type 1-3, 4-8, 9-end to get one file per range, or merge them to extract pages.
- By file size: parts under a limit you choose, for email attachments and upload forms.
- By chapters: one PDF per bookmark, named after the chapter title. When the PDF has sub-bookmarks, you can split by sections instead.
- At blank pages: put a blank sheet between documents, scan the whole stack once, and get one PDF per document with the blank sheets removed.

Pages are copied without re-rendering, so text stays selectable and images keep their original quality. There is no sign-up, no watermark and no limit on how many PDFs you split. Frequently asked questions
Is it safe to split a PDF online?
Yes. The file is read and split by your browser on your own device. Nothing is sent to a server, which is why it also works for confidential documents.
Does splitting a PDF reduce the quality?
No. Pages are copied into the new files exactly as they are, with the same text, fonts and images. Nothing is re-rendered or compressed. Interactive form fields and the bookmark list are not carried into the parts.
How do I extract only certain pages from a PDF?
Choose Custom ranges, type the pages you want (for example 2-5, 9) and turn on "Merge all ranges into one PDF". Or use Choose visually, switch to Extract and tick the pages.
How do I split a PDF that is too big to email?
Pick By file size and enter a maximum, for example 10 MB. The tool builds each part, measures the real file and adds pages until the next page would go over the limit. Email services add about a third for encoding, so for a 25 MB email limit choose 18 MB or less.
Can I split several PDFs at once?
Yes. Add several PDFs and the quick split you pick is applied to each of them. All parts are offered together and can be downloaded as one ZIP. Choose visually works on one file at a time.
Why can I not split my PDF?
Password-protected and permission-locked PDFs must be unlocked first with Unlock PDF. Damaged files, empty files and one-page PDFs cannot be split; you will see a clear message telling you which case it is.
